An accelerator's headline support figure can combine money, services and conditional benefits. Hub71's Access Programme in Abu Dhabi is a useful worked example because its programme page and FAQs describe these components separately. The details below were checked on 27 October 2026. They are the operator's stated offer, not a recommendation to apply, a guarantee of admission or a substitute for the signed terms.
Separate cash from services
Hub71 describes AED 250,000 of in-kind incentives for support services and AED 250,000 in cash in exchange for equity through a SAFE note. It also says selected high-performing startups may qualify for a further amount of up to AED 250,000 in exchange for additional equity.
The in-kind value should not be described as cash in the company's bank account. The possible top-up is conditional, not a benefit every participant has already earned. A founder should examine eligible services, how incentives are accessed and the actual agreement.
Read the future-equity instrument
The FAQs describe the SAFE as uncapped, with no discount and a future-looking most-favoured-nation provision. They also say participation requires agreement to the onboarding terms, including the cash-for-equity arrangement.
These descriptions are not enough to calculate a founder's eventual dilution or decide how the instrument interacts with other financing. Those questions require the actual document and suitable legal advice. Calling the support free money would lose the equity component entirely.
Include the commitment to Abu Dhabi
The programme page expects at least one founder to commit to relocating long-term and building a team from Abu Dhabi. The FAQs say onboarding includes an ADGM tech licence and describe a requirement to establish a presence, with founder attendance during the first three months.
The page describes a 12-month programme with a three-month guided track. Those durations refer to different parts of the offer and should not be treated as contradictory alternatives. Confirm the current cohort and attendance terms directly before planning a move.
Evaluate the access without promising a customer
Hub71 describes introductions to investors, corporate partners and mentors. An introduction is an opportunity to pursue a relationship, not a signed contract, committed follow-on funding or regulatory permission.
A sensible comparison asks which support the startup would use, what it must give in return and how the time commitment fits its own milestones. Hub71 is one specific example. Its published offer does not establish that every Gulf accelerator uses the same instrument, relocation requirement or benefits.
